On his new track ‘Ariya’, Leicester’s Scott Xylo showcases a remarkable skill at blending multiple genres, developing a seamless infusion of Afrobeat, Blues and Jazz. Released on Bristol label Black Acre, Xylo collaborated with fellow musicians Afrozaunt Zu, Catherine Sera and Marcus Joseph on this release. His distinctive, trippy style grows into a warm psychedelic rhythmical piece that is perfectly paired with Afrozaunt Zu’s rich voice. While Zu sings in his mother tongue, we are also treated to Catherine Sera’s ethereal vocals and a funky jazz solo by saxophonist Marcus Joseph.
